저에게 세상으로부터 한 걸음 물러서
자신을 마주하는 일입니다.
그 속에서 저는 조금씩 비워지고,
비워진 자리에서 새로운 빛이 들어옵니다.
To paint, for me, is to take a step back from the world
and quietly face myself.
In that space, I am slowly emptied,
and into that emptied place,
a new light enters.

1. Philosophy of Work
To paint, for me, is to take a step back from the world and face myself.
Within that distance, I am slowly emptied, and into that emptied space, new light quietly enters.
My paintings are a record of the silent space that lies between the world and myself.
There, everything pauses for a moment — resting in stillness.
I consider my work to be a form of meditative painting, an exploration of the essence of existence within silence and tranquility.
Through the temporality of oil paint and the depth of color, I seek to reveal the quiet truths of life.
2. Reason for Choosing Oil Paint
Oil paint, to me, is not merely a material but a way of layering time and thought.
Through the repeated act of applying thin, transparent brushstrokes, the paint dries slowly, and within that slowness, both color and emotion gradually change.
Following that slow rhythm, I embed time into each stroke, one layer after another.
This process is, for me, a form of meditation — and also an act of affirming my own existence.

그림을 그린다는 건 저에게 세상으로부터 한 걸음 물러서 자신을 마주하는 일입니다.
그 속에서 저는 조금씩 비워지고, 비워진 자리에서 새로운 빛이 들어옵니다.
제 그림은, 세상과 저의 사이에 놓인 조용한 공간에 대한 기록이라고 생각합니다.
그곳에서 모든 것은 잠시 멈추고, 고요하게 머뭅니다. 제 작업은 ‘침묵과 고요 속에서 존재의 본질을 탐구하는 명상적 회화’입니다.
유화의 시간성과 색의 깊이를 통해, 삶의 조용한 진실을 드러내는 작업을 표현하려 합니다.
