"Breath of White-

Whisper of Emptiness" - Artist Note (2025)

The breath of white is not a simple form.

Within it flow the breaths of the four seasons,

the passage of time, and the quiet rhythm of the human heart.

A single branch of plum awakens the spirit of spring;

orchids deliver the fragrance of summer;

chrysanthemums embody the grace of autumn;

and white camellias carry the pure vitality of winter —

all blending together into one harmonious breath.

The upright line of bamboo symbolizes an unwavering mind and an unshaken center.

The emptiness within the painting is not mere void.

Within absence, existence finds completion;

within stillness, the resonance of seasons and life continues.

When each breath meets within the curves of white and the spaces of emptiness,

we sense fullness in emptiness,

and hear the song of life within silence.

Through the translucent, delicately layered hues of oil painting,

the white breath, the curves of white, the camellia,

and the flora of all seasons breathe softly within the work.

Gentle blends of color, curve, and light and shadow

whisper the quiet life and subtle stillness that dwell within.

“여백의 숨, 백의 숨결” 

백의 숨결은 단순한 형체가 아니다. 그 안에는 사계의 숨결과 시간의 흐름, 그리고 인간의 마음이 고요히 흐른다.

매화 한줄기가 봄의 기운을 깨우고, 난초는 여름의 향기를 전하며, 국화는 가을의 단정함을, 하얀 동백은 겨울의 순수한 생명력을 하나의 숨결로 어우러져 스며들게 한다. 

대나무의 곧은 선은 변치 않는 마음과 흔들리지 않는 중심을 상징한다.

그림 속 여백은 단순한 공허가 아니다. 비움 속에서 존재는 완성되고, 고요 속에서 계절과 생명의 울림이 이어진다. 

각기 다른 숨결이 백의 곡선과 여백 안에서 만나 하나가 될 때, 

우리는 비움 속에서 충만을, 침묵 속에서 생명의 노래를 느낄 수 있다.

오일 페인팅의 특성을 살려 투명하고 은은하게 겹겹이 쌓인 색층 속에서, 하얀 숨결과 백의 곡선, 하얀 동백과 사계의 식물들이 고요히 숨 쉰다. 

부드럽게 블렌딩된 색과 곡선과 명암이 만나, 고요한 생명과 은은한 여백이 숨결을 속삭인다.
