저희 갤러리 아련은

‘가장 한국적인 것이 세계적인 것이 될 수는 없을까?’ 라는

어쩌면 모호해 보일 수도 있지만, 또 지극히 단순한

한 문장의 질문에서 출발했습니다.

전시 기획과 아티스트 매니지먼트를 중심으로,

작가와 작품이 함께 성장하는 장기적인 프로젝트를 만들어가기 위해

설립된 갤러리입니다.

갤러리 아련은 단순한 전시 공간을 넘어,

오프라인과 디지털 플랫폼을 유기적으로 연결하며 예술이 다양한 방식으로

사람들과 만날 수 있는 환경을 만들어가고 있습니다.

22년 6월 초대전을 시작으로 온라인에서 오프라인으로의 확장을 위해

대관 전문 갤러리 '공간 미끌'과 협력하기 시작했으며,

24년 5월 폐관을 결정한 ‘공간 미끌’을 인수하며 오프라인 전시의 기반을

더 확고히 하기 위한 작업들을 해오고 있습니다.

‘공간 미끌’은 개관 이후 작가들에게 실험적이고 독립적인 전시 기회를

제공하고자 이어져 온 공간으로,

갤러리 아련은 이 곳의 최초 설립 목적을 이어나가고자 ‘공간 미끌’의

상호를 그대로 두고 전시 대안공간으로 활용하고 있습니다.

‘공간 미끌’에서는 앞으로도 계속해서 사진, 회화, 조각 등 전 범위의

예술 전시가 이루어지며, 대관도 함께 진행됩니다.

‘갤러리 아련’은 ‘공간 미끌’에서의 초대전과 작가의 매니지먼트를 중심으로

분리된 작업들을 선보일 예정입니다.

결과적으로 ‘갤러리 아련’과 ‘공간 미끌(by 아련)’을 운영함으로써

온라인과 오프라인이 조화롭게 이어지는

새로운 형태의 갤러리 모델을 만들어가고자 합니다.

갤러리 아련은 한국적 정서와 현대미술의 언어가 공존할 수 있는 지점을 탐구하며, 예술이 단순한 감상의 대상이 아니라 삶 속에서 깊은 울림을 전하는 매개가 되기를 바랍니다.

앞으로도 갤러리 아련은

많은 사람들에게 ‘언제나 열려 있는 예술의 장’,

그리고 ‘조용하지만 지속적인 울림을 주는 작품’을 선보이는 갤러리로

자리하겠습니다.

Gallery Aryeon began with a question —

“Can what is most Korean also be universal?”

It may sound abstract, yet that single and simple question marked the beginning of our journey.

Founded with a focus on exhibition planning and artist management, Gallery Aryeon develops long-term projects that foster the growth of both artists and their works.

Beyond being a physical space, the gallery connects offline exhibitions and digital platforms organically, creating environments where art can reach audiences in diverse and meaningful ways.

Starting with our first invitational exhibition at Gonggan Micggle in June 2022, Gallery Aryeon began collaborating with Gonggan Micggle, an alternative art space dedicated to experimental and independent art practices.

In May 2024, we officially acquired Gonggan Micggle to strengthen our foundation for offline exhibitions and expand our creative operations.

Since its opening, Gonggan Micggle has offered independent and experimental exhibition opportunities for artists.

Gallery Aryeon continues this founding vision, preserving the spirit and character of the space while utilizing it as a main venue for exhibitions.

Going forward, Gonggan Micggle will continue to present a wide range of artistic practices — including photography, painting, and sculpture — with Gallery Aryeon co-directing exhibitions and projects.

In addition, Gallery Aryeon plans to host special exhibitions and artist management projects based on invitations and curatorial collaborations held at Gonggan Micggle.

Through this, Gallery Aryeon and Gonggan Micggle (by Aryeon) aim to create a new model of a contemporary gallery where online and offline platforms coexist seamlessly.

We seek the meeting point between Korean sentiment and the language of contemporary art, believing that art should not merely be viewed but deeply felt —

as a medium that conveys lasting resonance within life itself.

Gallery Aryeon aspires to remain

“a place where art is always open,”

presenting works that bring quiet yet enduring inspiration to all who encounter them.

MOMENT

정말 먼 길이 될 지도 모릅니다.

막다른 길일지도 모르겠습니다.

하지만, 저희 갤러리 아련은

조금이라도 한국적인 것들을 품고, 지키고, 발전시켜가며

작업을 해나가는 작가들을 발견한다면

길을 파고, 다리를 부여잡아

그 길을 함께 하겠습니다.

더 많은 진주같은 작가와 작품들이 세상에 빛을 발하고,

그 진주들을 더 많은 분들이 발견하고 소중히 품으실 수 있도록

흙을 파고, 닦아내는 작업을 멈추지 않겠습니다.

작가의 고뇌의 시간,

갤러리 아련팀의 고군분투 하는 시간,

그런 우리들의 마음을

여러분들이 공감해주시는 시간,

그 시간, 그 순간들이 모여

지금 가려 하는 이 길을 평탄하게 해줄 것입니다.

그 언젠가 우리가 걸어간 그 길의 끝에 서서

다같이 웃으며 과거의 추억을 나눌 수 있는

친구가 되어 있었으면 좋겠습니다.

We do not know yet if this will become a long road,

or perhaps a path that leads to a dead end.

But at Gallery Aryeon,

if we encounter artists who embrace and nurture even the smallest traces of Korean identity in their work,

we will walk that road with them —

carving the path, building the bridge, and holding their hands along the way.

We hope that more and more artists and their creations will shine upon the world,

that their hidden gems will be discovered and cherished by many.

And so, we will not stop digging, refining, and polishing —

to bring those gems into the light.

The hours of struggle endured by each artist, the dedicated efforts of our gallery team,

and the moments when your hearts resonate with ours —

all these times will come together

to gently pave the road we are walking now.

Someday, when we reach the end of that road,

we hope to stand there with smiles,

sharing memories of the journey we have taken —

as friends who have walked this path together.
